Trending things couples do together
When you’ve been a couple for a while, you’ll soon run out of date ideas.
Here are a few to keep those weekends fresh and exciting!
When you’re deeper into a relationship, perspiring in front of each other and appearing on dates without makeup is no biggie! Have some fun and get your heart pumping (in more ways than one) by working out with your partner.
Okay, maybe not quite so extreme. But hiking is a great way to stay in shape and have some quiet (apart from the panting) time with your partner! Maybe take a trip down to Bukit Timah Hill or the Tree Top Walk and spend some time with your loved one in the splendor of nature.
More of a water baby? Go canoeing instead. It’s a great way to see how well you work as a team with your partner and you’d definitely have to bond what with being stuck in the middle of a lake/reservoir with them.
Dancing is always great! If you’re good, it’d be fun. If you have absolutely no coordination whatsoever, it’d be funny. Either way, you and your partner would probably get a kick out of it.
If you’re the sort who really loves that adrenaline rush, why not go for adventure sports like diving, bungee jumping, or windsurfing? We heard being in dangerous situations causes you to forge a strong bond and rekindles love – definitely something worth looking into.
Not all dangerous situations are fast and furious, some of them take place in silence. Such as partner yoga, when your partner’s life depends on your strength and ability to bend into weird shapes. We guarantee you, you’d be so relieved at the end of the session that you’d fall in love with your partner all over again.
Learning something new and self-improvement is always a good idea. Combine that with bonding with your partner and spending time together, and you’ve got a fantastic idea.
Cooking classes are the best ever for a couple! There are many reasons for this: 1. It’s an essential skill to have, especially once you’re both married and staying apart from your parents. 2. If you’re good at it, it’s a great opportunity to show off some homemaker skills and impress your partner. 3. If you’re bad at it, your partner will probably find you adorable and be happy that you’re taking steps to remedy it. 4. You’d have something delicious to take away from this class. Win-win!
Lightsaber fighting, what will they think of next? But yes. It exists. Granted, it’s not the most practical skill to learn but it is probably as fun as it looks! Why not give it a whirl and get rid of some pent up feelings?
What a satisfying gif this is! Doesn’t it make you want to try woodworking for yourself? It’s probably something that requires more care and precision but it should also be tons of fun. You and your partner can reminisce about D&T back in Secondary School (we’ve heard this subject does not exist anymore) while making some pretty and/or useful trinkets for your place!
Apart from learning new things, appreciating new things is a good way to improve yourself.
Museums are free to enter if you’re Singaporean (most of them, anyway) and constantly have new exhibits for you to explore! So go to a museum, learn a little, take a lot of Instagram-worthy photos, and most importantly, spend time with your loved one.
This might be a little costly depending on what you watch, but a fancy night out for two about-to-be-cultured souls could be fun! Picture this: wearing your best clothes (or even shopping for them!), going for a fancy meal before heading to the theater to watch the latest musical that’s in town… Definitely a switch-up from Netflix and chill. A little variety is the spice of life – just try it and maybe you’d discover a new hobby!
Spend the day outdoors
Getting sick of binge-watching Netflix after doing it for two months straight? We feel you. Venture out and join the other humans again! Head to the great outdoors to soak in some sun! At least till season 2 of Stranger Things airs.
Want to enjoy the outdoors but without the workout? Picnics are your answer! Not only do you not have to sweat, you’d probably be packing in the pounds depending on how your spread is like. Make it a full day’s activity of preparing food with your partner before heading to a nice spot to enjoy all your hard work. If you’re rich af and unwilling to prepare food, there are tons of picnic services around these days that would gladly do all the work for you!
Singapore may be small, but there are still tons of hidden treasures everywhere. Take a random bus and get off somewhere you’ve never been to before! Exploring neighborhoods with your partner is a great way to get some sun and explore your city more.
Kite flying is a laugh and half if done with the right person. Trying to get one of the more complicated ones in the air and to stay there is no mean feat but trying to do so with your partner should be oodles of fun.
Redecorating your home is definitely one of the best ways to bond. It’s productive – you get to work on your new home together, you’d be able to breathe some new life into your old place, and it’s fun!
Ahhh, IKEA. Why pay more money to get someone to assemble your furniture for you when you can just do it yourself? Well, because it’s nearly impossible to do it yourself that’s why. Making a game out if it with your partner might make it less arduous, though (but no less time-consuming). Getting some new furniture for your place and saving money while bonding with your loved one? We can’t see any bad sides to this!
Again, why pay someone to paint your house when you can just do it yourself?
You’ve seen them on Tumblr and hipster movies, now it’s time to try it for yourself: build a blanket fort with your partner although neither of you are the age for it anymore. It’s fun and cosy and intimate and is great for cold nights.
Unleash your inner child with this one! Arcade games are cute and fun, especially when you can compete against each other!
Strange but true: Singapore has a whole ton of bus tours and we’re sure you’ve seen them ambling around Orchard Road all the time. Ever wonder what they’re about? You should go find out!
Who knew that Singapore had factory tours?! If you did, you’re more well-informed than me. But anyhoo. Depending on how alcoholic you and your partner are, you may want to head down to the Tiger Bewery Tour (alcoholic) or the Yakult Tour (non-alcoholic). We’d definitely be going soon too!
Treatments are funny because pain comes with beauty and most treatments hurt. Everyone likes to watch their partners go through little harmless but painful things like tattooing, pimple-popping… Just me? Oh, alright. But treatments are great too because you and your partner will emerge from the pain like a beautiful butterfly.
No, not that kind, you pervert. We mean the kind that would make you and your partner look fabulous. It’d be great. Might be a little painful, but great.
Massages are the best. There’s nothing like getting your spine cracked by a (deceivingly) sweet-looking, demure girl. Bonus points if your partner is in the same room, yelping, and regretting his office job (apparently the main cause of your bad back according to masseurs) as much as you.
This is the pièce de résistance. Why should you go through all the pain yourself?! Bring your man along with you and show him how much beauty really hurts. It’d be fun, but mainly for you.
Want the hairlessness without the pain? Try our Brazillian/Boyzillian IPL or laser treatment! More info here or contact us on Facebook!
Sustaining a long relationship is challenging in more ways than one. But also very, very worth it. Don’t take your partner for granted and remember to spend as much time as you can with him!
