The Science Behind Coolsculpting Fat Freeze
Isn’t the joint forces of technology and the pursuit of a more fulfilling body a beautiful thing? One of the newest things in fat reduction is the Coolsculpting, widely available around the world. And as one of Asia’s major cities, this treatment in Singapore is also very common and popular among the city’s body shapers.
It is straight up a fat reduction treatment, no other intentions, and for most of us, that’s more than enough. Because unless you’re fortunately skinny throughout all your life, you probably understand that body fat can be frustrating, and especially the stubborn type, often makes me want to sadly sit in my living room and eat a pint of ice cream, which of course, does not help one bit, not one bit.
But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t on to something with my “ice cream solution” (Ok, I might be getting ahead of myself with this one). It turns out that fat cells are more sensitive and vulnerable to cooling than other tissues around them.
And Coolsculpting is the treatment that takes full advantage of that. Approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration in 2010, it has become so popular with its non-invasion and non-surgical nature, its manufacturer was recently named the fastest growing medical device company by Deloitte!
How does it work?
A non-invasive (Once again, non-invasive!) applicator, is used to target fat cells in desired areas, once the applicator to the target area, it starts to reduce the temperature and reach the coldness that the fat cells respond to; note that the coldness applied by the applicator only affects the fat cell without interfering nor affecting with surrounding tissues or nerves, the fat cells, as mentioned, are vulnerable to this level of coldness and start to die.
Once that happens, your body responds by deposing the dead fat cells are boom. Less fat and skinnier you go! The process of fat cells deposal can however, take up to months but at the same time, this is because the deposal of the dead fat cells are completely natural, furthermore, a continuing effect can be seen up to three to six months. This makes the treatment a more natural approach to fat reduction. According to scientific researches and testing, Coolsculpting is proven to reduce fat by 20% – 25%.
Because of the completely non-invasive, non-surgical nature, it requires little to no downtime and no risks that are typically associated with surgical procedures. Although there are immediate side effects, including temporary redness, swelling or bruising, sometimes tingling and discomfort, though the key word here is temporary, the side effects generally don’t last long. So keep that in mind and don’t schedule your treatment right before your bikini contest!
As usual, consult with your doctors and professional treatment provider and seek their opinions and advice based on your specific body type and medical background, remember, you can never ask too many questions when it comes to your health!
Hot in Singapore
Another reason why Coolsculpting is becoming more and more popular in a busy big city like Singapore is that the procedure only takes about an hour, some even call it the lunch time procedure, one can easily hop in for a CoolSculpting procedure during lunch time and get right back to the office after it’s done, the beauty of no downtime.
There are currently more than 30 clinics that offer this treatment. While it is a lot less technical in comparison to other fat reduction procedures, especially the surgical treatments, note that you should choose a reputable, experienced clinic to conduct the procedure. The experience of the clinic plays a key role as they are likely to be more prepared for all possible scenarios and are more knowledgeable for different body types and medical history background.
Don’t be shy to request a consultation before you make any decision, and the more experienced a clinic is, the more they’d be willing to provide all the information you need prior to the treatment. Do not take the preparation and evaluation lightly when it comes to your body and health, and either should the clinic![sgmb id=1]
